Endell Mobility Services
Lameness is one of the most significant welfare and economic diseases affecting the UK dairy industry (FAWC 2009) and several milk buyers have included mobility scoring programmes within their purchase contracts.
Although the current focus is on the dairy industry, lameness in beef production is also of critical importance and whether it is suckler cows, stock bulls or pedigree bulls correct management of feet is essential and foot trimming should be part of all herd health routines.
Endell Farm vets has a rich history in lameness and its control, from the underlying science through its application on-farm and indeed helped to develop the AHDB Dairy Healthy Feet Programme.
Endell Mobility Services (EMS) offers a practical solution to the challenges of controlling lameness using our Category 1 Foot Trimmer, Dave Pinnegar, a vastly experienced member of the National Association of Cattle Trimmers (NACFT) who can provide a bespoke on-farm solution, whether it is routine dairy cow trimming, annual bull trimming or occasional visits to undertake specific work. This work can be organised as annual contracts with routine visits and payments scheduled to suit or as non-contract work as and when required.
Dave’s work can be linked to independent mobility scoring carried out by our trained LSS Team.
Throughout his career Dave has worked with dairy cattle, firstly as a successful dairy herd manager and latterly as a foot trimmer. Dave has gained a wealth of experience and knowledge in the management of lameness and foot care and can pass these skill on to both fellow foot trimmers, famers and vet students if required, in both introductory courses or refresher training to those more experienced who just need to see the most up to date foot care.
Just call Dave to discuss what EMS can do for you and your animals - a bespoke solution that is right for your farm can be found.
